Some bad news from the Courage Campaign:
The bad news?
In what the media is now calling “Double Bubble Trouble,” 94,000 “Decline-to-State” v otes in Los Angeles County — 50% of the total DTS ballots cast — are being rejected due to a ballot design flaw, despite the Courage Campaign’s discovery of the “double bubble” problem and official notification to the Registrar prior to Election Day.
Unfortunately, Dean Logan, the Registrar in charge of Los Angeles County, is refusing to conduct a physical hand-count of every “Decline-to-State” vote before the official vote …

Important: All ‘decline to state’ voters in Los Angeles, please hold onto your receipts for the time being.
Also, the Courage Campaign now has a registration site up for ‘decline to state’ voters in Los Angeles. You will need to enter your contact information and voting receipt number. Once it’s recorded, the campaign’s lawyer will send you a note via email.

The first Hate Crime indictment has been handed down in the Megan Williams case, and the accused, Karen Burton, 46, is “relieved:”
Karen Burton was “a little surprised” by the hate crime charge but was relieved that an earlier sexual assault count was not included in the indictment, said her attorney, Betty Gregory.
“She didn’t want her children to think anything like that about her,” Gregory said.
