Uneven, but kinda funny.
“We’re drilling in Brooklyn right now!”
If you are hunting for laughs as much as I am right now, John McCain calling non-tax paying, lying, attention craving ‘Joe the Plumber’ “an American Hero” and “my role model” notwithstanding, have a look.

I completed and mailed my ballot yesterday. Remember, to be safe, send in your vote-by-mail ballot right away. If it is not in the hands of the election officials by November 4th, then your vote will not be counted.
Obama/Biden *check*
NO on Prop 8 *check*
And I’m proud to be an American where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men (and women) who died, who gave that right to me.
And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t …

I ignore most of the polls and take nothing for granted. If the supporters of your candidate of choice do not come out and vote in droves next Tuesday, then your candidate WILL NOT win. Both McCain and Obama understand this. If you intend to vote, don’t bore me with any excuses come Nov. 5 about why you did not get it done.
Mrs. Amanda Jones, who is a 109 year old daughter of a slave, has cast her vote for Barack Obama.
According to The Austin American Statesman:

Watching America writhe through the throes of this political contest I’ve felt disillusioned and inspired; often whipsawing back and forth between the two in the same hour.
What’s disillusioned me?
Watching parents encourage their children to hate Barack Obama. (example at 2:54) When I first saw that footage a couple weeks ago, I broke down and sobbed. I cried those heavy, heaving sobs that make a guttural sound as they move up from your belly, past your chest and out through your throat. I was so forlorn and a little bit …

According to Editor and Publisher,
Tennessee Tribune Publisher Rosetta Miller-Perry says she doesn’t mind embarrassing people if it makes them do the right thing. The right thing to do, she argues, is vote in the upcoming presidential election — so she’s embarrassing hundreds of registered voters who didn’t go to the polls in 2004.
In its latest edition, Miller-Perry’s black-oriented Nashville weekly published the names and addresses of non-voting registered voters living in largely African-American precincts.
A local TV station interviewed several people angry about finding their names and addresses on …

I read this story on Drudge and immediately thought “Tawana Brawley.” It did not make sense that this “victim” would not be bruised in the face (only sporting smeared eye make-up), that the assault took place away from the ATM cameras, and that her “attacker” would stand over her face and “carve,” without actually tearing the skin, a backwards “B.”
And further, why would you refuse any medical treatment?
I was feeling a little guilty about my skepticism until I looked at the “victim’s” Twitter page courtesy of Malkin. MM …

In the latest example of what she calls “gotcha journalism,” Sarah Palin just got pwned by a third grader whose biased temerity compelled him to ask, “What does the vice-president do?”

Mrs. Palin’s answer:

PALIN: That’s something that Piper would ask me! … [T]hey’re in charge of the U.S. Senate so if they want to they can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes that will make life better for Brandon and his family and his classroom. SOURCE
Um nope. That’s not it. Wrong answer.

UPDATE: Politicker.com features a “cartoon” of Colin Powell as Benedict Arnold in blackface. “Benedict Powell…race patriot.” It is repugnant and should be an affront to all decent people.

When I awoke yesterday morning to learn that Colin Powell had endorsed Barack Obama I was exhilarated. I remain a firm supporter of Colin Powell’s although I have taken plenty of heat for my opinions from my friends on the left. They feel he allowed himself to become a NeoCon pawn. I don’t see it that way and supported the Iraq war myself …

Do did you see Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live? What did you think?
Maybe it’s just in my head but I felt a small tug of discomfort watching as Palin played with the others. Try as everyone might, the interactions between the cast and Palin fell a little short of breezy. Why? Who knows? The cause could be as simple as poor cue card placement.
To Palin’s credit, I thought she looked appealingly silly bopping along to Amy Poehler’s ‘Palin Rap.’ And certainly did herself no harm by showing up …

One of the saddest realities of this political season is that Barack Obama or John McCain will become the next President of these United States without being asked a single serious question about their thoughts on the state of America’s “justice system.” We only have ourselves to blame for that omission. We are so caught up in our allegiances to our political party or chosen presidential candidate that we take what we get from them, even if we don’t much like what’s served and are left wanting. And even though …

Those elusive ‘Undecided Voters’
My hunch is that most of you reading this blog know who you will vote for on November 4th. I would be curious to speak to anyone truly undecided to find out what their core unresolved issue is. To the credit of both candidates, both of whom spout enough bluster to cloud the Los Angeles skies, each campaign’s website is replete with comprehensive information.

The most important issue that came up for me during last night’s Presidential debate and on the high spirited Kevin Ross Show that followed …
