Michelle just recognized this for the extremely clumsy attempt that it was. So she gets to go on record as being against this kind of race baiting. She’s not actually against the concept of attributing the actions of one person to another or even an entire racial group. She certainly wouldn’t have had a problem making the case that all Obama supporters were capable of this type of incident, if the incident had only actually happened. Then it is fair game for all kinds of distortions and innuendos. She’d just prefer her for instances to stand up to the light of a minimal public scrutiny.

It is surprising to me that Michelle Malkin did not compare this hoax to the Charles Stuart hoax in Boston or the Susan Smith hoax in S.C.– Both were fabrications about a ‘black man’ who overwhelmed a ‘white woman’. IMO, Michelle ignored an ‘obvious’ comparison about an ‘obvious’ hoax.
