It is time that broadcasters start telling the truth. The recent flood of one sided information by radio on the pending “HR 848 – Performance Rights Act” is uncovering a much larger problem. The First Amendment calls for “Freedom of Speech”, but unfortunately broadcasters continue to feed misinformation to millions of Americans, without a murmur of opposing opinion.
Radio One, Founder Cathy Hughes has rediscovered her microphone after a ten year hiatus. While shaping the Performance Rights Act as an end to Black Radio, Hughes and her staff have …

Perhaps those of us on the outside looking in have it all wrong. Perhaps Mr. Steele is a mole. Maybe Michael Steele is a one man, chocolate colored, fifth column for political progressives. It’s becoming plausible that Mr. Steele’s goal is to burrow in and then ransack the GOP from the inside while other conservatices/Republicans take on that task from the outside. Think I’m wrong? Then you explain Steele’s latest, self-hating suck up:
While hosting Bill Bennett’s radio show Friday morning, Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele appeared to agree …

I am so excited to talk with you about the next chapter for All About Race. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I get frustrated that those of us in our AAR community can’t just talk about some of the headlines or some of the stuff that happens in the comment section or just how race is impacting our daily lives. I think it’s a dimension missing from our online experience.
So I’ve taken the next step to address that. I’m launching ‘All About Race on …

Top radio trash talker Tammy Bruce took her vocal derision of the First family to a new low today. Bruce hurled criticism after criticism at the First Lady in a rant that sounded like Bruce was unraveling on air. What triggered Bruce’s tirade? Oh, that would be the First Lady’s recent conversation with school children in which she shared that other kids had accused her of "talking white" :
"I wanted the A for myself, and I wanted to do it, and ooh, they said you sounded like a …

In getting ready for my role as blogger panelist at “Tavis Smiley’s State of the Black Union” this Saturday, I’ve just participated in one of the most frank, wide ranging and invigorating conversations on the state of ‘Black America’ that I can remember having. As a guest on my friend Kevin Ross‘ Blogtalkradio show, I hashed it out, no holds barred, with Kevin and fellow blogger Lenny McAllister – both black Republicans.
Listen to the Kevin Ross show on Blogtalkradio.
Kevin, Lenny and I will be blogger panelists on ‘Tavis …

In my biased opinion this ‘News and Notes’ segment is well worth listening to. I was on with Kevin Bass, former Superior Court judge, entrepreneur and active Republican supporting Barack Obama; and Marc Lamont Hill, Temple University professor, speaker and Fox contributor.
Our first topic: Does Sarah Pallin care about diversity? Then we moved on to discussing how affirmative action should be applied to college admissions today. Our conversation was so high spirited, we only got to touch on the topic of felons and voting rights.
Please have a listen and …
